What do you like most about your job: “I like the Action. Every day is a new challenge, experience or situation to investigate. From the minor wilting leaf on a, to the large declining Oak. I love the pursuit to figure out what the cause of the sickness is and how to resolve it. The reward is the solution and watching the recovery. Nature is amazing and being an Arborist is like working in at the largest theme park ever! Excitement of a new adventure at every turn.”
Favorite part of your job: “Climbing trees 100%! The exhilarating of the climb, a view can’t be beat. Once up in the canopy your one with nature, the tree gently swaying with the wind, birds chirping, and the occasional squirrel looking cross-eyed at you because you’re in their tree. It may seem scary to some, but to me its very relaxing.”
Advice for every home owner: “Think of trees as you think of yourself. You need food, water and oxygen to survive. Trees have similar needs. Having an Arborist out to assess your trees needs is very important. Most of our trees living in the urban landscape and are lacking food, water and sunlight due to bad planting locations, poor soils or lack of leaf litter for a natural food source through composting. “

Arborist
Sean Frainey
Sean has been a certified arborist since 2008, though his experience in tree care began long before that. As a former owner of his own company, he deeply understands the dedication it takes to build something like Advanced Tree Care. Sean finds joy in working outdoors and creating beauty every single day. His favorite tree is the mighty Bur Oak, and when he’s not working, he loves spending time with his family—especially his grandchildren.

Arborist
Dru Sabatello
With over 40 years of experience in the tree care industry, Dru Sabatello brings unmatched knowledge, passion, and dedication to every project. He is proud to be among the first 50 certified arborists in the state of Illinois, a distinction that speaks to his pioneering role in professionalizing the field.
Before joining Advanced Tree Care three years ago, Dru founded and ran his own company — Sabatello Tree Care — for four decades. During that time, he built deep relationships with clients and became known for his integrity, attention to detail, and genuine love for trees.
Dru’s favorite part of the job is talking with homeowners about their trees and helping them bring out the best in their landscapes. He believes that education is key, and he takes the time to explain the “why” behind every recommendation.
His favorite tree is the European Beech, known for its beauty and elegance — a perfect reflection of Dru’s approach to tree care. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking for family and friends, and spending time on the golf course.
Dru’s advice for every homeowner:
“Well-maintained trees improve property value.”
